What We Believe:
We believe the Bible. Among other important elements
of our faith we maintain that the Bible is the infallible and
inspired Word of God. What we believe the Bible teaches may be
found fully expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith,
the Larger & Shorter Catechisms. These documents have
been a principal expression of the faith of most Protestants
since they were written in the mid 1600's. They are a
"form of sound words"--as the Bible says we are to
follow, "Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have
heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus."
(2 Timothy 1:13). We use them to clearly express our
faith for the purposes of maintaining unity, peace, &
enduring soundness of faith in the church. The Bible
principally teaches what we are to believe about God and what
we must do to be saved and serve him. There is good news. Every
one who would be right with God and be granted everlasting
life may come to God by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We
will be forgiven because Jesus Christ offered to God when he
died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins, and believing in
him our Father in heaven counts what Jesus did as ours and
includes us in him. We are saved from our sins to know
and serve the living God not on the basis of anything we can
do in and of ourselves. Salvation is all of God. Thank
God. Salvation is all of God’s mercy and love that
extends to us in pity and grants us faith in Christ, with a
new heart and a new life by the Holy Spirit—a life with God
that never ends. Any ministry of the word by any preacher
is a cumulative experience. The value of what is
proclaimed is only appreciated over time as the truth and
practical use and spiritual benefits are accumulated week in
and week out. We invite you to come over an extended
period of time. Come and Worship.
